Kapil was supposed to shoot an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 9 but the shoot had to be called off because all the workers, from the spotboys to the make-up artistes to the light-men went on strike.
On August 9, SpotboyE.com reported that FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) had given notice to the Producers Guild saying that they need a wage hike else they will strike work from August 15 onward. Thus, keeping their word, employees went on strike at 7 am yesterday morning and protested outside Film City’s main gate.

While Mumbai police swung into action, several shoots were cancelled.
The shoot of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Padmavati, Shah Rukh Khan’s next and John Abraham’s Parmanu were affected. Nearly 2, 50,000 cine employees and workers had announced an indefinite strike from August 15. The stir comes in the wake of the inaction over the assurances that the workers will be given a hike.
